Short company description:
Dr. Nadine Vaughan began Vaughan Psychological Services in 1990, as a way to provide clients with psychotherapeutic help as they worked to improve the quality of their lives. During this time, she also taught at colleges and provided expert forensic analysis. Since the pandemic, she has refocused her services to work more with groups and businesses, helping her client groups address issues of diversity; ways of working with mentally ill; and advising film and other media makers who desire psychological accuracy in portrayals. As a Director and Associate Producer, she has worked on feature films and writes spec scripts for productions. Currently, she’s also working on a self-help book for people who want to reconcile relationships that have been strained or severed.
How do you define success?
I define success as my ability to live life in a joyful way, regardless of traumas or hardships; while continuing to discover the hidden gems that might enrich the lives of self and others. It is my belief that the gifts I receive in life (both good and not so good), are intimately tied to the ways I interact with others, and will work with anyone who wants to make this world a better place for us all.
What’s your favorite way to get involved in the community?
Using the arts, I’ve directed self-help programs such as The Living Theatre Company; Arts of the Soul; and Writers by the Sea.
What are your biggest goals in the next 12 Months for your business?
My biggest goal in the next 12 Months is to complete my self-help book called “Sleeping Warriors”; have it published; and market it.
